Tomorrow afternoon, I’m travelling to a reception in honour of Combat Stress being held at the Cavalry and Guards Club in Piccadilly, London. (I promise to take photos of the interior if I can!)
As you can see from the image, we are within a whisker of breaking the amazing tally of £30,000, raised over about ten years now, thanks to the generosity of wargamers such as yourselves.
Since I have 200 patrons, if each of you were able to chip in as little as £1 each (and I know that some of you have donated a great deal more) then I will be able to announce to the charity that we have smashed the £30K barrier, a significant amount that makes a huge difference to the charity and, more especially, to the men and women veterans who are receiving their help. It also makes a huge difference to their loved ones, both family and friends, who often find themselves coping with someone whose personality has changed completely because of their illness.
Charitable giving is of course a matter of choice and of course I have no right to expect any of you to contribute, but it would be wonderful to be able to give the charity, which is always hard-pressed for funds because of the increasing number of veterans coming forward, a significant piece of good news.
Please chip in if you can – every pound or dollar makes a real difference to the lives of men and women who have served their country.

Thank you.

The charity is dependent on donations for 80% of their income? For every £1 donated to Combat Stress, 84p is spent on vital treatment, care and support.
