Partizan 2022: Photos from the Show

Partizan this year was a joyful affair in so many respects. It was great to see the show so well attended, and to bump into so many friends who had made the effort to come along.

From my perspective, I had the additional pleasure of receiving so many compliments about the forthcoming Wargaming Campaigns—it made the job of lugging nearly 2 kilos of hardback book around more than worthwhile!

It was also a delight to rub shoulders with fellow podcasters and vloggers (hello Alex, Sean and Ken!) who are helping to ensure that the hobby gets as much exposure as possible on the airwaves. I also had a great chat with Guy Bowers of WSS magazine, with whom I was tasked with judging the games, and I have agreed to make a return to column writing in the near future—watch this space.

But most especially, it was so lovely to have a number of patrons come up and say “hello”. All were treated to a monologue about The Book and allowed to feel the heft! I want to send out a special thank you to Nick Skinner of TooFatLardies, who served as one of my beta readers and made some fantastic suggestions that helped to make Wargaming Campaigns far better than it would have been. Nick’s time during the pandemic was made scarier than for most because he was extremely ill for a time, and I was truly delighted to see him up and about and in fine form. Best wishes to his business partner Rich Clarke too, who is currently facing his own challenges and I wish him well.

I also want to thank the many people who offered kind words of support and encouragement concerning my own health over the last couple of years—the sentiments are sincerely appreciated and I can reassure everyone that the worst is very much behind me and I am doing fine.

Anyway, relax for a few minutes with your favourite beverage, put your feet up and enjoy the show.
