Been there, done that. So what on earth possesses a man to make him start a brand new wargaming magazine? And, more than that, an American wargaming magazine, the graveyard of so many brave efforts in the past?
Well, in this episode, I chat with Jason Weiser, the man who has done precisely that. I ask him about his background in the hobby, the kind of gaming that he enjoys (a much broader selection of games than just historical miniatures gaming), his fascination with the Russian Civil War and, yes, his decision to launch a magazine aimed primarily at the gaming scene in the USA.
As you know, I’m no stranger to the job of owning and running magazines, so I was fascinated to hear Jason’s remit for the new publication, and the hopes he has that it could become the hub of a real sense of community across that huge continent on the far side of the Atlantic. And certainly, he seems to be doing all the right things so far, as well as avoiding some of the mistakes that could nullify his efforts.
Jason is a highly intelligent chap, a prolific writer of wargaming articles and clearly, a brave man too! We wish him every success with this new venture.
