Battlechat 81 with SIdney Roundwood

It’s been quite a while since I last had Sid on the show and boy, am I delighted that he agreed to come back to chat about what he’s been doing during the pandemic and beyond!

Sid and I share a number of interests centred around world-building, fictitious history and, it seems WRG 6th Edition Ancients, but I was truly fascinated to hear how he managed to maintain his motivation and inspiration for the hobby over the last couple of years.

More than that, Sid confesses that, as for many of us, the restrictions of the pandemic led to a lot of hobby ‘deep thinking’, which in turn resulted in an evolution of the kind of games he’s interested in playing and collecting for, but with the social aspects remaining paramount.

You may already be familiar with Sid’s output, thanks to his fantastic blog (featured in my forthcoming Wargaming Campaigns) and his regular appearances on the TooFatLardies’ Oddcast. But I truly think that this chat gave Sid a chance to open up rather more than he normally does, and our free-flowing conversation certainly inspired me to re-visit a number of aspects of my own take on the hobby.

So, sit back and enjoy my chat with one of the nicest guys in wargaming as we chew the wargaming cud.
