It’s about time that we had the King of 10mm back on the show, and the timing is perfect, because not only are we emerging from the strange world of the pandemic that has affected businesses in interesting ways, but Pendraken have now vastly expanded their operation. So now, Leon speaks to us from brand new premises, giving the business a great deal more room to breathe, with space for ten staff, a huge variety of product lines (many not even in 10mm!) and gaming tables for visitors to use!
Leon gives us the low-down on how things have been over the last couple of years (including their amazing effort to produce face masks for the NHS and others in the caring professions) which of course includes the effects of Brexit and the never-ending rise in postage costs as well as the pandemic. In addition, we discuss the potential future of shows in general after the pandemic has caused such a shift in people’s buying patterns, moving many sales online, and how the price of fuel and the increasing cost of living has forced gamers and traders alike to think carefully about which shows they want to attend.
But he’s also here to announce the publication of a new ruleset for modern warfare fans, Cold War Commander 2, which has been in the works for quite some time, as well as the thorny challenges of getting more gamers to try 10mm gaming and the debt we owe to Games Workshop for acting as the ‘gateway drug’ for attracting new blood into the wargaming hobby.
So, sit back, relax and listen to the dulcet tones of the man from Middlesbrough giving us behind-the-scenes insights into the wargames industry.
Henry
