Welcome back to Mark Backhouse, who last demonstrated his ability to out-talk even me almost exactly two years ago! Brimful of enthusiasm as ever, Mark has come onto the show to talk about his forthcoming 2/3mm Ancients ruleset Strength and Honour, which is currently under development and is slated to appear in print and other formats later this year.
This innovative ruleset is designed to enable players to portray epic battles of the ancient world on a surface no larger than the average dining room table, and uses a combination of card-based play and more conventional mechanisms on a subtly gridded surface.
Mark being Mark, he goes the extra mile by creating his own troops, depicting thousands upon thousands of individual warriors! He described the process of constructing and painting them just in case you fancy having a go yourself…
We also explore what Mark has been up to gaming wise in the last couple of years, despite the restrictions of lockdown, and at the end of the show I add some comments of my own about the importance of getting the right kind of help for your mental health.
