Hot off the press, and available to all immediately because of the timely information it contains, welcome to my chat with ‘Partizanmeister‘ Laurence Baldwin, who gets a chance to talk on his own, rather than with organising partner Richard ‘Tricks’ Tyndall who, allegedly, is usually the more garrulous of the two!
We give a bit of background to the Partizan show for those who may not be as familiar with the event as the many British gamers who make the annual pilgrimage to Newark, before discussing the decision the guys had to take to cancel the show because of the Covid-19 measures.
But, not given to taking a crisis lying down, the guys have come up with a brilliant idea: to create an online version of the show, calling for traders, gamers and those who would normally just be guests at the show to contribute wargaming stuff digitally and make this coming Sunday a day to remember despite the lack of a physical show.
In addition to this, Laurence has worked in mental health for many years, and so I asked him to give his insights into how best to cope with the current crisis and suggest some strategies that might help us deal with the kinds of anxieties that have arisen in this unique and strange situation.
My thanks to Lau for his time and I wish him all the very best as he embarks on organising the online version of Partizan 2020!
