Helena Nash is probably best known in the wargaming community for her association with Crooked Dice and their 7TV series of ‘spy-fi’ games, set in the imaginary worlds of cult TV stations.
However, Helena began her journey into the hobby with much more conventional wargaming, including toy soldier games with her brother using Airfix 1/32 WWII figures, Dungeons & Dragons umpired by her father and hordes of Warhammer Fantasy Battle goblins obliterating everything in their path in the days of what we now fondly call ‘Oldhammer‘.
A highly talented writer in the specialised world of gaming, Helena’s imagination has driven many of the backgrounds and scenarios in 7TV, but she has also broadened her horizons to become a creator of concepts for miniatures, as exemplified by her work on the Grandville Miniatures line of anthropomorphic beasts.
A highly intelligent and witty conversationalist, Helena is also a blogger who voices opinions on many matters in the world of wargaming and roleplaying, as well as general entertainment, comedy and gender politics. This explains why our conversation was so lively and wide-ranging!
So, come and join us as we discuss the full gamut of Helena’s interests, a show that will be of particular interest to those of you who are also writers and creatives in the gaming world.
