Battlechat 26 Part 1 with Rick Priestley

Yes, the master himself, games designer and veteran of Games Workshop and now Warlord Games, is on the show.

So, how did the conversation go with the man responsible for creating the world’s most popular tabletop wargame ever, Warhammer 40,000?

The clue is in the title here – part 1, which rather implies, correctly, that there will be a part 2. Things were getting really interesting when we simply ran out of time, so Rick will be back for a second session next week!

We covered quite a lot of ground in less than an hour and a half, but my list of topics to raise with him was considerably longer than we could deal with today, though we did touch on some stuff that was absolutely fascinating and I’ve never heard Rick talk about before – you’ll hear for yourself!

So, sit back with a beverage of your choice and listen to Rick chatting with me from Priestley Towers in Gotham (yes, really).

Incidentally, this podcast marks the beginning of a new trial regime where patrons have access to material for a full week before it goes public. A very good friend – he knows who he is – called me with this piece of advice and after careful thought, I decided “okay, let’s give it a try”. Meanwhile, dear patrons, it would help a LOT if you could help me to persuade more wargamers that it’s worth their while signing up to gain early access, whether their pledge is for a single Dollar a month or more. Enjoy the show!

P.S. Yes, I know your heads must be spinning with my rate of production recently! It won’t always be like this, it’s simply the reality that I had the opportunity to get Jasper, Tony and Rick on the show in quick succession, so I seized the day. I should be back to a slightly less forbidding schedule from here on.

P.P.S. As a bonus, I’m attaching a PDF of the interview I did with Rick with John Stallard for Battlegames back in 2010.
